Owner Mike Dooley has been in the
nursery and landscape design business for over 30
years and can design a landscape project for your property using
native plants and grasses, cacti, trees, perennials and
water features to create a beautiful oasis for years of enjoyment.
Design Philosophy
For the 27 years that I have been a landscape designer I have seen
many approaches to the field of landscape design. Some designers use
every trick in the book to cut price with the finished product
looking very amateurish. The other end of the spectrum is the "high
end" pro that makes you feel bad if you don't have an unlimited
budget. My approach is a little more realistic.
At our first meeting I try to figure
out, not only what you want, but can it be done within your budget.
I do my best to give you a ballpark figure from the day we meet. I
don't just listen to what you want, knowing that it is beyond your
budget,
and come back with a plan and bid trying to convince you that you need to spend more.
If you ask for it, I'll show you all the "bells and whistles" but
they will be listed as an "alternate" that we can add at your
request.
Landscape design is about LANDSCAPE DESIGN not a smooth sales
technique. I live a modest life style and spend my money on things
that mean a lot to me and I assume that you do the same. If a
beautiful landscape is important to you, I can design a landscape
that will make you the envy of your Albuquerque neighborhood. If landscape design
as far as you are concerned is only a means of covering up the sand
and protecting your investment, we do lots of gravel work and would
love to be of help.
Where I think we really stand out is our ability to show you where
to best spend you hard earned money by eliminating or downsizing
expensive parts of your dream.
Many people just give up on the landscape because the designer
doesn't want to spend the time to show you how to get the most "bang
for your buck" and cut back if needed. Sometimes it's nice to do
business with a guy that understands good design but is personally a
little fugal. And that's how I see it!
